The Apex Core is a dedicated hardware bridge designed to act as the brain of your ambient lighting setup. This is the required foundational base kit for the entire Apex ecosystem. You must have the Apex Core controller installed to run the Apex Halo or Apex Matrix expansion kits.

Rather than relying on passive or audio-delayed patterns, the Core ingests raw animation signals directly from your Stern node boards and instantly translates them to an expanded, high-density LED array. It doesn’t just react to the game; it becomes part of the game.

• Custom Architecture: Features dedicated hardware logic level shifters to ensure a razor-sharp, error-free data stream without glitches or color drops.

• Isolated Power Pipeline: Powered by an independent, dedicated power supply with an inline safety fuse. Your machine’s expensive factory node boards remain completely isolated and safe.

• Massive Output: Capable of driving 8 independent LED channels simultaneously.

• 100% Plug-and-Play: Absolutely no cutting, soldering, or wire splicing. The kit connects via dedicated pass-through daughterboards and is 100% reversible.

System Requirements & Compatibility:

• Spike 3 Machines: 100% compatible with all Spike 3 titles natively.

• Spike 2 Machines: Compatible with select Spike 2 titles. IMPORTANT: Your Spike 2 machine must have the official Stern Expression Lighting Kit already installed to use our system. The factory Spike 2 architecture requires the Stern expression daughterboard to provide the dedicated data signal that the Apex Core pulls from.

Demystifying Spike 2 Compatibility (Pro, Premium, & LE) While Stern traditionally gates their factory Expression Lighting and 5.25″ speaker plates to Limited Edition (LE) models, our system does not require an LE machine. However, because the factory Spike 2 node boards do not output the necessary ambient lighting data stream on their own, your Spike 2 machine (whether it is a Pro, Premium, or LE) MUST have at least one official Stern Expression Lighting Kit (either the cabinet lights or the speaker lights) already installed. Our Apex Core controller utilizes that existing Stern daughterboard to pull the data required to drive our expanded LED arrays.

Includes the Apex Core master controller board and four IP65-rated underglow strips (Quad Row system) built with ultra-flexible, premium silicone-jacketed wire.
